    Abstract:
To evaluate the sensitivity of the prestressed concrete lining stress to the related factors, the stretching controlling stress ?con, friction coefficient between prestressed steel and channel wall ?, local deviation friction coefficient of strand channel k, and anchorage deformation and steel shrinking value a were selected as the sensitivity factors in this paper based on the background of Yellow River crossing tunnel project. The orthogonal experiment design method was used to determine the calculation scheme, and the stress state of wall concrete was calculated using the three-dimensional finite element method with different values assigning to the factors. The sensitivities of hoop stress and axial stress of the wall concrete to the four above factors were analyzed with the range analysis method. The orthogonal experiment results showed that the magnitude of sensitivities of hoop stress and axial stress of the wall concrete to the four factors under the conditions of completed strand tension and water filling reaching design water pressure is in the order of ?, ?con, a, and k, and especially ? and ?con have a significant impact on the hoop stress. Therefore, the value accuracy of the above two factors must be evaluated or validated by the experiments to ensure that the parameter values can reflect the real situation and the results of numerical calculation are reliable .

    [Abstract](1320) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](51)
    Abstract:
Triaxial creep experiments were performed on Q2 loess with different moisture contents. The experimental results showed that the rheological properties of Q2 loess strengthen with the increasing of moisture content. According to the experimental curve shape characteristics, the nonlinear viscoelastoplastic model (improved Nishihara model) was constituted by connecting a generalized Kelvin model with a nonlinear viscoplastic body in series. The improved Nishihara model was used to fit the test data and analyze the model parameters, which suggested that instantaneous deformation modulus (EH), viscoelastic modulus (Ek), and viscoelastic coefficient of viscosity (ηk) decrease in the exponential form with the increasing of moisture content. The water damage parameter D(ω) was introduced to derive the damage evolution equation of each creep parameter, and the nonlinear viscoelastoplastic model with water damage effect was established. The experimental data were used to verify the model, and the results suggested that the nonlinear creep model considering water damage can characterize the overall rheological properties of Q2 loess effectively.

    2014, 12(5):11-13.
    [Abstract](1385) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](54)
    Abstract:
In some constructed large and medium hydropower stations, in order to protect the ecological environment of downstream, a new water pipeline is usually developed through the fork tube to ensure the downstream ecological flow. An ecological unit can be installed in the new water pipeline to generate electricity. There are two arrangement forms for the ecological unit: fork tube located behind the surge tank and in front of the surge tank. For the first arrangement form, the two units share the same surge tank, resulting in large hydraulic disturbance between the ecological unit and original unit. The load change of the original unit can have greater impact on the ecological unit than that of the ecological one on the original one. For the latter arrangement form, each unit has its own surge tank, resulting in insignificant hydraulic disturbance between the two units. The two units can operate independently.

    [Abstract](1335) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](58)
    Abstract:
The plane turbulent jet theory was used to partition the flow regime in the stilling pool of the energy dissipater with step-down floor and analyze the flow structure of the impact area. Based on the principle of potential energy converting into kinetic energy, the empirical formula of time-averaged hydrodynamic pressure of the energy dissipater with step-down floor in the impact area was derived using the mathematical method of coordinate transformation. The reliability of the formula was verified by the hydraulic model experiments. The variations of the flow pressure of the energy dissipater with the step-down floor were analyzed with the variations of the incident energy, incident angle, and –drop sill depth.

    Abstract:
he theory of spatial mobilized plane was used to improve the yield criterion and failure criterion of Lade-Duncan elastoplastic model, and then the modified Lade-Duncan model was established based on the non-associated flow rule. Model parameters can be determined by the traditional triaxial test. The adaptability to the modified Lade-Duncan model for silt was verified based on the triaxial UU test results of the silt samples collected in the deep foundation pit of the south-central plain area in Weifang. The modified model can better reflect the relationship between(σ1-σ3)and ε1 of supporting layer of silt, and the relativity and shear dilatancy properties of stress paths. The modified model can provide reference for the calculation of silt foundation deformation of the high-rise buildings and ultra-tall buildings.

    [Abstract](1453) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](55)
    Abstract:
Based on the analysis of structural characteristics of a run-of-river hydropower station, the finite element analysis software Ansys was used to build a three-dimensional structural model to analyze the seismic response of the run-of-river hydropower station. Three different response spectrums from both the European code, Eurocode 8, and the Chinese Code, Specifications for Seismic Design of Hydraulic Structures (DL 5037-2000) were applied. The dynamic behaviors of the structure under earthquake loads were investigated using the time history analysis during the 20-seconds artificial seismic wave which was extracted from the elastic response spectrum. After analyzing and comparing the stresses and displacements of the powerhouse structure which were achieved from different calculation theories under the seismic loading condition, the main characteristics of the run-of-river hydropower stations during earthquake activities were illustrated and some suitable suggestions for seismic analysis were provided.

    Abstract:
The concrete material has a porous structure due to its own physical and chemical properties, and the pore structure determines the strength and permeability of concrete. In this paper, the complex porous structure of concrete was simplified to the single capillary. According to the Fick's law and mass conservation principle, the dissolution equation of concrete pores was obtained, and the erosion model was established based on the research of capillary permeability of porous medium in Bear theory and saturated solute transport diffusion equations. The simulation results showed that the model can reflect the variations of dissolution and concentration of solid phase calcium ions and erosion thickness of side wall in pores.

    2014, 12(5):36-40.
    [Abstract](1690) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](55)
    Abstract:
Tubular pumping systems which are widely applied in the low and extra-low head pumping stations usually adopt the structure of straight outflows in the conversional design. In order to meet the requirements of low head, short annual operation time, and high safety and reliability in the municipal flood control pumping stations, five structural types of tubular pumping systems with siphon outflows were proposed, and they have the advantages of simple structure, reliable shut-down device, convenient installation and maintenance, and cheap cost of operation and management. Under the condition of unchanged model pump, CFD simulation technology was used to perform the numerical analysis, optimal hydraulic design, and performance prediction of various tubular pumping systems with siphon outflows. According to the optimization results, a comparison test of the shaft-type tubular pumping systems with straight and siphon outflows was carried out in the model test stand with high accuracy. The model test results showed that hydraulic performances of two outflows are similar so that the structural types of straight and siphon outflows are both suitable for the low head pumping station when the tubular pumping system is used. For the extra-low head pumping station, the tubular pumping systems with siphon outflows have significant advantages compared with those with straight outflows.
10  Analysis of Static Characteristics of Hydrodynamic Radial Sliding Bearing in Consideration of Fluid-Structure Interaction
    SHI Zhi-neng,QU Bo,LIU Ding-wei,LI Wen-ling
    2014, 12(5):41-44.
    [Abstract](1330) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](49)
    Abstract:
The oil film parameters of the dynamic radial slide bearing were calculated based on the two-phase flow theory with the consideration of the fluid-structure interaction effects of lubricating oil and bearing bushing. Due to that the two-phase flow model introduces the effects of negative pressure on the bearing load, the calculated load results were greater than those determined by the single-phase flow and Reynolds equation. The impacts of bearing material on the pressure distribution and load of bearing and vaporization proportion of the oil film were demonstrated through the adjustment of the elastic modulus of bearing. Reducing the stiffness of engine bearing can decrease the maximum pressure of bearing and the amount of bearing deformation to some extent. Therefore, proper selection of bearing material is an important factor to ensure the stable operation of bearing.

    Abstract:
In the calculation of the stability of surrounding rock in the underground caverns, the study area of underground stress is usually large. However, the information of known parameters is limited; therefore the numerical analysis results on this basis can result in some deviations from the reality. Based on the measured data of underground stress and geological structure, and improved particle swarm optimization algorithm, an inversion model of the initial stress field was developed. The inversion results were in good agreement with the measured results, which can provide reference for the further analysis of the surrounding rock stability in the plant area.

    2014, 12(5):50-53.
    [Abstract](1422) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](47)
    Abstract:
The shuttle-type belt conveyer, as a new type of concrete machine, has been widely used in the pouring hydropower construction and other fields. The finite element model for analyzing the overall structure of shuttle-type belt conveyer was established using ANSYS. The load the shuttle-type belt conveyer suffered under the normal conditions was simulated, and the prestressed modal study and harmonic analysis were performed. The natural frequencies for the first 8-order modals were obtained, and the second modal frequency had the greatest impact on the dynamic performance of shuttle-type belt conveyer. Therefore, the second modal frequency was extracted as an objective function in the multi-objective optimization design, which can lay the foundation for the subsequent optimization design of shuttle -type belt conveyer structure.

    Abstract:
The finite element calculation software Ansys was used to develop a three-dimensional model of a landslide. The representative range of Kobe earthquake wave was selected to investigate the distribution characteristics of lateral stress, soil pressure, and bending moment of the anti-slide pile. The results showed that the lateral stress of the anti-slide pile is significant under earthquakes, which may have a favorable impact on the anti-seismic performance of the pile; the bending moment of the anti-slide pile shows in the “convex” shape and it reaches the maximum in the landslide area during the earthquake; and the occurrence of negative moment can have an adverse impact on the anti-seismic performance of the pile.

    Abstract:
The finite element software Midas Civil was used to develop a three-dimensional model of a practical CFST tied arch bridge with a main span of 85 m over the main canal of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Based on the results of moving load analysis and dynamic characteristic property calculation, the load test plan of the bridge was proposed. According to the load test and theoretic analysis of the whole bridge, the design and construction quality of the bridge were tested, and the load bearing capacity of the bridge structure was evaluated. The load test method presented in this paper can provide the basis for the evaluation of the same type of bridges over the main canal of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

    [Abstract](1596) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](47)
    Abstract:
The determination method of longitudinal dispersion coefficient based on the quantile regression and the concentration-time data of two sites were used to predict the water quality in the river channel. Moreover, the results determined by the quantile regression and least squares regression methods were compared. The example results showed that the quantile regression method is feasible and effective to determine the longitudinal dispersion coefficient of river channel. The quantile regression parameters passed the hypothesis test in the 97.5% confidence level at the first site, and the highest correlation coefficient of the predicted and actual values at the second site reached up to 0.928. In addition, quantile regression method has more advantage in solving the problems with skewed distribution than the least squares regression method.

    Abstract:
Health assessment of the ecosystem in the drainage basin is one of the hot topics in the field of ecosystem management of drainage basins. Based on the PSR model, the health assessment of ecological conditions of the Zhangweinan River Basin was performed in three eras (1980s, 1990s, and 2000s). On the basis of the ecological health evolution trend analysis, the main driving factors of human activities were identified using the method of canonical correlation analysis. The results showed that the ecological health of the Zhangweinan River Basin becomes worse and then slightly better since the 1980s, and the main driving factors of human activities affecting the health development of the river basin are the sharp increase in population, soil and water conservation, and utilization of water resources.

    Abstract:
Export trade drives the development of our country's economy at the same time also brings environmental pollution problems. Under the theories of environmental economics and international trade, this paper uses provincial panel data from 1997 to 2011 to reveal the export trade to China's water damage based on a spatial dynamic panel data model. The results show that China's export trade and industrial waste water emissions exist with the development of export trade, increase, decreases first and then put forward. According to the empirical conclusion, some policy recommendations are proposed to promote export trade and environmental protection.
18  Impact Analysis of Different Cut-off Plans on River Floods
GUO Zhi-xue ZHONG You-sheng LVU Wei
    2014, 12(5):77-80.
    [Abstract](1732) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](63)
    Abstract:
This paper was devoted to the comparison work of the two cut-off plans on upstream of Fu River in Chengdu city with a 2D mathematical model. In the first plan, this elevation difference was assigned to one step-fall. In the second cut-off plan, the elevation difference of the curve reach was assigned to the whole river. Both plans would decrease the water level and increase the velocity of main river in upstream. Meanwhile the hydrodynamics of the curve reach was reduced. However, the first plan could cause more intensive change. In the second plan, the velocity of step-fall was too high to keep the stability of the channel under the local scour and too much noise would be created due to this high speed current. The first plan was similar to the natural cut-off river progress, therefore was more reasonable and safe.
19  Pollution Distribution and Source Analysis of Heavy Metals in Groundwater of Baotou city

    2014, 12(5):81-85.
    [Abstract](1864) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](49)
    Abstract:
In order to investigate the groundwater quality and contamination in Baotou City, 33 groundwater samples and 4 surface water samples were collected to analyze the heavy metals such as Cr, Cd, Hg, Pb, and As. The pollution distribution of heavy metals and their sources in four different districts in Baotou were analyzed using the hydrochemical analysis, environmental geochemical analysis, environmental quality assessment, and pollution evaluation methods. The results indicated that all four districts have heavy metal contamination and the heaviest pollution is detected in the Donghe district, where the samples with detection and over standard of heavy metals are the most. The order of detection rate of heavy metals is Pb>As>Cd>Cr6+, and the pollution degree is Pb>Cr6+>As>Cd. Based on the analysis of industrial wastewater, heavy metal contents in soil and domestic sewage, industrial wastewater effluent is the main source of heavy metal pollution. In addition, there is significant relationship between Cd and Pb, indicating that they may be from the same pollution source.

    [Abstract](1782) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](51)
    Abstract:
The characteristics of climate change in the Heilongjiang-Amur River Basin were investigated using the temperature and precipitation data of China and Russia from 1981 to 2010 and three-stage (1992, 2000, and 2010) remote-sensing image data, and the impacts of climate change on the ecological environment in the area were analyzed. The results indicated that the annual average temperature increases with a rate of 0.33℃ per decade, while the perennial average precipitation decreases with a rate of 22.05 mm per decade in the Heilongjiang-Amur River Basin. Due to the drying and warming climate and impacts of human activities, the vegetation cover in the Heilongjiang-Amur River Basin changed significantly, which caused great impacts on the ecological environment, such as the degradation of the forest ecological system, wetland shrinkage, permafrost thawing, and land desertification.

    2014, 12(5):96-99.
    [Abstract](1699) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](45)
    Abstract:
Based on the analyses of the observations from the representative stations in the non-flood season, it is found that the observed runoff in Hutuo River at the beginning of this century has decreased to one third of that in 1950s. The decrease of the water in the upstream of the river has resulted in serious environmental deterioration in the lower reaches. Large-scale human activities have changed the underlying surface of the Hutuo River Basin. As a consequence, the natural annual runoff has decreased by more than 40% under the same level of the annual precipitation in recent years. Meanwhile, the percentage of the water consumption in the total water is increasing year after year. In this case, the river drying-up becomes normal and the water environment is deteriorating seriously in the lower reaches of the Hutuo River. Taking the Middle Rout Project of the South-to-North Water Diversion as an opportunity, it is expected that the relations of flood control, water supply and environment protection in lower reaches can be reconstructed for the reservoir regulation in order to restore the water environment of the Hutuo River.

    Abstract:
Elbow inlet conduit is w idely used in the vertica l pump system of the larg e and medium size pumping stations. H ow ev2 er , there ar e st ill some problems in the engineering practice of hy dr aulic desig n for the conduit. Contr ol sizes o f the elbow inlet co nduit of 14 new ly2built lar ge pumping stations in the first phase of easter n route o f South2to2No rth Water Diver sion Pr oject wer e analyzed, and the basic rules o f the co ntr ol size r ang e wer e obtained. It is sugg ested to conduct the standar dizatio n desig n for the elbow inlet co nduit using the CFD method based on the t heo ry of o pt imal hy dr aulic design fo r the larg e pump system, and to apply the model test to v erif y the r esult s. Finally , accor ding t o an ex am ple o f the optimum hy dr aulic desig n fo r the elbow inlet conduit , the pr eliminary assumpt ion on the requir ements fo r the standardizatio n o f elbow inlet conduit was pro po sed.
